Simply About…

Welcome to the "Simply About..." world, where everyone can find oneself and make real friends, despite all the peculiarities, differences and no matter what.

"Simply About..." tells a story of a small button, lost is a trinket box among uninteresting monochrome buttons, which are scared by our character's differences. She refuses to accept the rules of the game and the hostile conditions and boldly jumps out into the unknown, meeting colourful friends in the world that in the beginning seems new and scary.

"Simply About..." is almost a silent book. I wanted to write a simple story addressing complicated matters of tolerance, loneliness, bullying, looking for oneself and one's place in life. The minimally present text combines with the scenes from the button world, creating a wholesome composition and acting as a small prompt of the current feelings of the main character.

I hope that with the help of "Simply About..." parents can build dialogue with the children, experiencing similar issues or by emphasising with the little button small readers will be able to transfer her emotions on the feeling of surrounding people and thus, hopefully, will in future refrain from the destructive behaviour of "monochrome buttons". I would love if the children who are witnessing a challenging situation could upon reading the book see that the world can be versatile, that there is room in it for each and one of them. I hope it will help them overcome the fears and find strength to more forward.
